Paseo Maritimo:
Called the "balcony on the Mediterranean", the Paseo Maŕtimo is a wide, four-kilometer-long boulevard that runs along the coast passing by three different and characteristic ports: the fishing boat port, the military port and the international port (one of the most important on the Mediterranean).Approximately 700 palm trees have been planted along the boulevard, and the gentle island climate has made them healthy and strong.
Here we also see the most luxerious and elegant hotels on the island (the ground floor of the Hotel Mediterraneo also houses the Museo de Tauromachía) plus conference centers, such as the modern Auditorium, entertainment spots and the most-up-date discotheques (some of which have been coverted from the old, picturesque wind-mills). For those who prefer to leave the driving to someone else, there are also typical island carriages that let you enjoy a long, peaceful ride under the palms.
